JAKARTA – A number of countries are starting to prepare a new normal order so that they can adapt to the midst of the corona virus pandemic. Several ways include adopting technological devices to help human activities.
At least this effort will soon be implemented by smartphone vendor from China, Honor, who made a unique breakthrough by attaching a body temperature sensor or thermometer to a smartphone. This new feature will be coming soon to its newest product, Honor Play 4 Pro.
As reported from Phone ArenaThis sub-brand from Huawei has shown off the capabilities of its newest smartphone through its Weibo social media account. In the promotional video, this Honor device can measure a person’s body temperature when pointed at the forehead or wrist.

This is possible because Honor makes use of the infrared (IR) sensor on the phone to detect human body temperature. The result is that the Honor Play 4 Pro thermometer sensor is able to measure body temperature from -20 degrees Celsius to 100 degrees Celsius.
Although not as accurate thermal scanner, the feature of checking body temperature via IR sensor is considered to be able to make it easier for people to detect symptoms of the disease. Especially before the new normal conditions during the corona virus pandemic, this kind of feature will be very useful.
In fact, Honor is not the first vendor to include a thermometer feature on its cellphones. The CAT S60 mobile developer has even embedded camera capabilities thermal imaging.
Apart from the thermometer feature, the Honor Play 4 Pro is still said to have a variety of features available on smartphones in general. The cheapest version, Play 4, uses a MediaTek Dimensity 800, 6GB RAM and four rear cameras.
While the Play 4 Pro, which is the most expensive version, uses the Kirin 990, 8GB RAM and two rear cameras. This phone supports 5G connection and uses a 1080p screen.
For the price, the Honor Play 4 Pro, which has a thermometer, is sold in China for around 421 US dollars (Rp. 6 million). Meanwhile, the Play 4 Pro without a thermometer costs around US $ 407 (Rp.5.8 million). For Honor 4 Play the price is even cheaper, which is 253 US dollars (Rp3.6 million).
